Knitting and Life and Music and NOLA twitchyknitter 4:32 pm

Random stuff in no particular order:

Been sick all week. Low-grade fever, low-grade headache that just. won’t. go. away, completely exhausted. Icky. Started a new pair of socks, finished up another condom cozy, no progress on Sahara. Kids are out of school. Yay. House is a wreck. Went to a show Saturday night (Southern Whiskey Rebellion, Sinkhole, Valume Nob, and Crowbar) and I sat myself down on the steps outside the club and knitted on a sock most of the night because I felt so crappy. I could still hear the music though. Firebaugh came out to check on me now and then. Then I proceeded to sleep about 19 hours on Sunday.

Mother’s Day Tuesday, May 22 2007

FO's and Knitting and Life twitchyknitter 2:23 pm

Yeah, I know, kinda late. So sue me. I got some new books, and some new yarn, and some handmade goodies from the kiddos.

I also got to get up that morning and sweep and mop the kitchen floor.

Then there were guests and Firebaugh sparked up the grill. I like it when he does that. Yummy.

I made my mom some flowers for Mother’s Day this year. Two red ones like this, and one white one. Cute, right? I’ll have to get a better picture of them once she’s moved into her new house.

I also finished up Goat’s socks, started on Jay G.’s scarf, and Intolerable Cruelty got put on hold for a while. That’s probably a good thing because it means I can try to concentrate on Sahara.

My youngest youngster graduated from Kindergarten yesterday. I think I might be getting old. Ick. So now he’s home all day while the older 2 still have another week of school left. It’s kinda nice having just one kid in the house. He’s pretending to be Luke Skywalker at the moment.

That’s all I’ve got right now. Not feeling very bloggy lately.

Ever feel like you’re just spinning your wheels and going nowhere? I feel like I’m always doing something, but never getting anything done.

There’s progress on Sahara, but not very much.

Sarah Jane says: Get Busy Human!

I’ve been working on a pair of socks for a friend that I keep frogging and re-frogging because they’re not right.

I’m trying to finish up a Mother’s Day gift for my mom. Pics next week.

I haven’t even started the hat that was supposed to be for Rose’s birthday last month.

Haven’t touched the laceweight I got last month, but I did buy a pattern for it (that counts for something, right?).

I’ll be starting Intolerable Cruelty for another friend as soon as she gets me some measurements. That’s going to be a major project. Should take a while to finish, but I’m really looking forward to working on it.

I did manage to finish the Fishy Bathmat. Not great, but cute.

Did a little shopping this weekend and picked up Fitted Knits and Knitting Lingerie Style. Two great books. Looking forward to working on some of those projects.

Caught some music this weekend. Friday night there was Goatwhore. This was the second time I’d seen them. I can’t remember the first time (there was alcohol involved).

In the “Life In General” department:

I’m always tired, at least one person in this house is sick on any given day, the laundry never ends, the floor is always dirty, and I’d be perfectly happy if I never had to use the stove again. Why can’t all the meals come from the microwave?

And I’m obsessing over my next tattoo. I can’t decide what to get. I know what I want it to represent, but can’t come up with an image. It has to be about the knitting, but not too girly. I don’t want anything gruesome and evil, either. No zombies with knitting needles through their brains. I’m stuck. I have until September to figure it out, though. Suggestions are welcomed!
