The one in which I mention sleep too much Wednesday, Oct 24 2007

Raise the Dead II went off with nary a hitch. Yay! I’ll gather some pics for a later post. I still feel like I haven’t slept in a week.

Knitting content:

I started the Brea Bag a few days ago. Super quick, that knit is. It’s probably going to end up as a UFO until I can get in some quality time with my MIL, the crochet queen (hint, hint Betty). Here’s the progress, thus far…

It’s all squinchy due to lack of blocking. I’ll work on that, maybe tonight when I’m not sleeping. Look, sneaky feet!

Finished up a Coronet hat, too. Modified only slightly. I switched the band around so it doesn’t have to be folded up, cuz it just doesn’t get that cold here.

Yes, that is my actual face. It looks as though I haven’t slept for a few years, that’s normal for me. And yes, the ends of my hair are green. Intentionally. No, it’s not just for Halloween, either.

Lets see, what else? I started yet another Snow Devil hat. This one’s for Kimmo, which means I’m glad to be working on another one. Yay cuz she’s in the country, and she’ll be in my neck o’the woods soon! I’m a wee bit excited about that.

That’s all for right now, it’s time for supper.

Until next time,

The Bamboozled Headband was a really quick, satisfying knit. Too bad it’s not really my color. But it sure is pretty.

Jackyll & Hide was also finished up this week. Quick, easy, cute.

Folded up:

And unfolded:

I can see through the eye holes, it’s just a weird angle .

And a little bit of yarn pr0n that showed up (finally) in my mailbox:

I think it wants to be gloves. Really cool, kick-ass, punky, maybe fingerless gloves. Excuse me while I go sniff it some more.

RTDII (not R2D2) Saturday, Oct 13 2007

It’s not technically knitting content, but I plan to knit while we are there, so I think it counts. Pain Tribe! Choke! Red Army! Graveyard effin’ Rodeo! Can’t go wrong with a line-up like that.

It’s gonna be killah! Brah!

Until next time,

Rangoli Hat Monday, Oct 8 2007

Pretty, pretty hat. She should be arriving at her new home soon, and I hope her new owner loves her as much as I do.

Clicky here for the pattern (PDF).

New FO pics when the rain stops and I can get some decent pictures.

Until next time,

Utopia Redux Wednesday, Oct 3 2007

It’s such a spiffy little pattern, I had to do it again. This time in a more vivid color:

I also did a generic ribbed brim/stockinette cap, but in a very luxe wool/llama blend. It was knitted while I was listening to the Yarn Harlot speak! She’s so terribly witty I almost can’t stand it. She is every bit as lovely and charming in person as she is on the blog and in her books. And she liked my tattoo. (!)

And, so you know that I don’t only knit hats these days…a scarf!

There’s also another scarf in my future. I made a little swatch, just to see how it felt. It felt good, but it will look much better when it’s done with better yarn and the proper size needles. I think the shopping excursion will be on Saturday (assuming I survive Friday night).

Non-Knitting Content:

I’ve been roped into going to the House of Shock Friday night. I’ll probably cry. Or pee my pants. Maybe both.

Until next time (I hope),
